Love this image. I have always felt that I got a great combination of qualities from both sides from my very opposite parents. I can clearly identify with both, and I think most people who know me would agree. I love that. But sometimes it trips me up.
When I first decided to start this blog, I was a little lost on the direction I wanted to take it. I changed my mind so many times- typical. I stressed out about what "topic" I wanted to focus on so that this blog could be specialized enough to be found easily for my audience. But who is my audience? Clearly, defining your target audience for any goal, whether that be increasing sales, your followers, your message, whatever!- is extremely important. But who are they? Who would be interested in the content I have to share?
When I finally decided that the blog would be a mixture of personal and professional, it seemed a bit contradicting. I decided it would be a blog about me, my interests, my passions.. but where do I even start? I've always been interested in so many things. My whole life I've enjoyed learning about new things, trying new stuff, and being open to whatever came into my life at the time. Lucky for me, my life has provided me with nothing short of a colorful experience in my short 26 years on this planet. I'm especially passionate about a few topics currently, but those types of things will forever be evolving I believe, and that's good! That's not to say there won't be constants in my life that I care about, but staying open to new things and always being eager to learn are a couple qualities within myself that I enjoy.
So to put it short, this blog will be about whatever is current on my mind and in my life. My audience are people like me- people who care, who are curious, who are a little weird, and who care about some of the same things I do. Right now, two topics that I care immensely about are music (music festivals and culture), and drug addiction and mental health (with a focus on the heroin epidemic in my area). Pretty random, right? That's okay. I'm cool with it, and hopefully you are too.
So welcome! Check back often, be vocal, interact with me, and hang with me as I build my site into something people can hopefully relate to, learn from, and be inspired from.
